City Park Players is pleased to present a CPP Theatre Workshop free of charge on Saturday, October 19, with guest speaker Pia Wyatt.  Wyatt is a Professor of Theatre and Dance and Associate Director of Theatre and Dance at Northwestern State University School of Creative and Performing Arts in Natchitoches, LA.

The workshop will feature two sessions.  The acting session, from 9:30-11:00 am, will explore “Auditioning Tips”.  Actors will learn how to make a great impression and stand out at a live audition, and will get the inside scoop of what casting directors look for when hiring actors. There will be an option for the participants to present an audition and receive feedback.

The directing session, from 11:00 am-12:30 pm,  will cover “Directing for the Stage”. New and experienced directors will learn and discuss the demands and problems of directing as you study and practice essential tools of directing.  Topics covered will include how to find a concept, how to block a scene, and how to successfully work with actors.

The CPP Theatre Workshop will be held at the Rapides Foundation building in Downtown Alexandria.  This workshop is brought to you free of charge as a community service, but pre-registration is required due to limited seating.  For more details or to register, please send an email to:  cityparkplayers@gmail.com.
