What’s a play reading?
A CPP play reading is a live event where actors (and volunteers, if you’re interested) read a script excerpt aloud without memorization, sets, or costumes. We use readings to hear the dialogue spoken aloud to preview a play before choosing a full season. Play readings are a great way to interact with the theatrical process; plus, they’re free!

We’ll read 2-3 play excerpts together, you’ll share your thoughts, and together we’ll figure out what’s stage-worthy. Think book club energy, but with actors. It’s fun, informal, and helps us decide which plays make the cut for next season!
