About the Concerts:

CURTAIN UP FOR MICHAEL is a benefit concert for Michael G. Sterne. For more than three decades, Central Louisiana has been blessed by the talents and kind heart of an extremely gifted musician and teacher, Michael G. Sterne. Michael has played a vital role within our Central Louisiana Arts community in a variety of ways:

• Music directing countless performances and thousands of rehearsals
• Spreading his expertise and love for classical music to hundreds of students
• Recording fully orchestrated accompaniment tracks for a dozen major musicals
• Conducting orchestras and combos for a wide variety of musical productions
• Saving many of us from missing music cues!
• Bringing stories to life on stage through his artistry and thoughtful collaboration with a wide variety of directors.

In 2022, Michael must undergo kidney transplant surgery, which has led to unexpected financial expenses. In response, sixteen organizations have rallied together to present CURTAIN UP FOR MICHAEL. This collaborative group hopes to raise at least $25,000 to ease the financial burden Michael faces.

City Park Players is serving as fiscal agent; therefore, all donations to CURTAIN UP FOR MICHAEL are tax-deductible.

CURTAIN UP FOR MICHAEL is not part of the regularly-scheduled 2022 Season for City Park Players.
