2017 Summer Theatre Workshop: "Crazy Kids Camp"

2017 Summer Theatre Workshop

City Park Players held their annual one-week summer theatre camp for kids, giving students an opportunity to learn in-depth about the theater, both on-stage and behind-the-scenes. Children aged 7-12 enjoyed the Summer Theatre Workshop, directed by Tina Smith with assistance from Shayla Simmons, at the Hearn Stage in Downtown Alexandria.  This crazy character camp offered children the opportunity to develop acting and staging skills through theatre games, music, and activities.  Participants auditioned for their scenes, learned how to block, and rehearsed, learning acting and singing techniques.  The week-long camp culminated in a short performance on Friday, August 4, 2017 on Hearn Stage at Kress Theatre.   This workshop was sponsored by the RoyOMartin Foundation through a grant administered by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana.
