President's Message 2017

“Every community needs a little theater ---City Park Players is YOURS, CENLA!”

Welcome to the 2017 season of City Park Players productions!  Thank you for your support of CENLA’s original community theater, providing quality productions to our community since 1938.  The generous support of individual and corporate sponsors, along with the cadre of dedicated volunteers, City Park Players (CPP) has a robust, eclectic slate of shows for 2017.  In response to patron feedback, the five regular-season shows are a mixture of comedy, drama and mystery, so there is something to appeal to a wide range of audience interests.

The season ticket pricing structure remains a real bargain for this community, so consider taking advantage of that method for your tickets.  Season tickets are provided as “any time” tickets:  The 5 show tickets can be used in any combination for any production.   Individual show tickets are still usually available at the door.

The CPP Board of Directors is excited to announce our new website at  Please take your first opportunity to take a look as development continues to evolve.  You can buy tickets, get information about CPP, current and past shows, photographs, how to volunteer, audition for a show, donation button, etc.  Also check out our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram presence.  We received patron feedback and have responded with broader communication efforts.  You may have noticed that the new, larger 2017 season brochure has a season poster on one side for display, in order to keep the show dates in front on you all year.

Patron feedback is highly valued as your all-volunteer Board of Directors begins plans for the 2018 season. Please let us hear from you!

Ticket sales comprise about 50% of CPP budget, so sponsors, underwriters and in-kind donations are welcome additions that enable us to continue the variety of programming to the community.  The effort to engage in youth theater opportunities and to seek ways to collaborate with local schools continues. Because City Park Players is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, contributions are tax-deductible.

Many thanks to you for joining City Park Players for our 2017 season! We look forward to seeing you at the theatre --- we’re saving a seat for you!
